FAQ

YOUR ESSENTIAL GUIDE FOR THE JOURNEY AHEAD
  • No previous multi-day cycling experience is required. We do recommend that at least one person in your group has experience with a day ride covering 50-60km (31-37 miles). If you’re unsure about your physical ability, we suggest opting for an e-bike to ensure a more comfortable and enjoyable journey.

  • We ask that one person in your group is familiar with basic bike maintenance, such as adjusting saddle height, changing flat tires, and oiling the chain. We’re available via WhatsApp if you need help during your trip.

  • Our tours are designed with a moderate level of challenge, with most routes planned to stay within 60km (37 miles) and 1,000m (3,280 feet) of climbing per day. This allows for a relaxed pace, typically starting around 9:00-9:30 AM and finishing by 4:00 PM, leaving ample time for sightseeing, meals, and breaks along the way.

For context, recreational cyclists typically ride at around 20 km/h (12mph) on flat terrain and about 10 km/h (6 mph) on a 5% incline. Based on this, it would take approximately 3 hours to cover 60 km (37 miles) of flat terrain. For every 100 m (328 feet) of elevation gain, you can expect to add about 3 minutes. So, a route with 1,000 m (3,280 feet) of total climbing would add approximately 30 minutes, bringing the estimated moving time to 3 hours and 30 minutes—not including time for lunch, breaks, cultural activities, headwinds, heat, or any unexpected delays. Keep in mind, this level of effort is sustained over five consecutive days.

  • Our Comfort grade accommodations are carefully selected for cleanliness and comfort, making them ideal for those looking to save and explore more of Japan. While the rooms are smaller and offer fewer discoveries and unique features compared to our luxury collection.

  • While the starting location cannot be changed, you may choose to end your tour early if necessary (though no refund is provided). We also offer bespoke non-cycling extensions, and full details will be provided after inquiry.

  • Absolutely. You can travel with your bike or ship it to our warehouse upon arrival at your entry airport. Shipping costs apply for delivery to your starting point. After your trip, we can store your bike for up to four weeks and ship it to your final hotel for a one-way shipping fee.

  • Non-riders can still join the tour by booking the trip. We’ll arrange taxis from hotel to hotel, with the fare paid directly to the driver.

  • Availability checks are part of our pre-trip coordination and can be time-consuming, so we require your commitment before proceeding. If there is no availability, we’ll refund your deposit.

  • The final itinerary, including hotel names, is provided 50-60 days before departure. Turn-by-turn navigation routes will be sent 1-2 weeks prior to your trip to ensure the latest updates.
